Why?

  1. Reservations made through booking engines may give you in some cases a lower price, however beware of the conditions. These bookings do often not include breakfast, a welcome gift, late check-out possibility, free access to spa facilities etc. and may give you a room in a less prominent part of the hotel.  In case the proposed room rate differs from what you have seen on other sites, be open to the hotel owner and ask him if he can offer you the same rate.
  2. Your personal and credit card information is more secure.
  3. Small hotels do give more personal service, use it from the early start of your trip.
